The following are changes to Expert 3500 Color ClipArt's Installation located on page 6 of the User's Guide.
Step 1: Insert the Expert CD into your CD-ROM drive. A window will appear containing the file installer icon.
NOTE: The Example shown in the User's Guide indicates that all the CD-ROMs share the same name, 'Expert Software ', when in fact they are individually named. The Expert 3500 Color ClipArt disk is called 'Expert_ClipArt_CD '; the program's file folders are within another directory called 'Expert Software ', and are named 'Image Browsers ' and 'Images ', respectively.
Step 2: (For users with a Claris folder) Open the System folder. Open the Claris folder. Open the Claris Translators folder. Select, drag and drop all TIFF files to the Trash can. Choose Special - Empty Trash. (If you do not have a Claris or a Claris Translators folder, then skip this step).
Step 3: Open the Preferences folder located within the System folder. Locate the file XTND Translator List and drag it into the Trash can.
Step 4: Choose Special - Restart.
Step 5: Double-click on the Install Me First icon. A Kudo Browser opening screen will appear.
Note: During the installation of Kudo Browser, the opening screen for the Kudo installer refers to the Trouble Shooting section of the Kudo manual for more information on installation. We have not included any of Kudo's installer information with our documentation. Please disregard this message. Click on Continue to get past this screen.
Step 6: Click on Continue. A second screen will appear with information about the installer program.
Step 7: Click on Continue. A third screen will appear containing the options Quit and Install.
Step 8: Click on Install to begin the installation. When the program has completed installation, an "Installation was successful." message will appear.
Step 9: Click on OK.
Step 10: In order for the changes to take effect, choose Special-Restart.
IF, while you are using Expert 3500 Color ClipArt
(1) You do not have Graphic Converter, or
(2) You double-click on an image icon, or
(3) You choose EDIT-ORIGINAL from the Kudo Browser.
THEN, the following error will appear:
" The Document xxxxxx.tif could not be opened because the application 'Graphic Converter' could not be found. "
We used the application Graphic Converter 1.7.9 to convert these images to Macintosh format. We do not include this application on the CD. You must open the images through a Paint or Draw program that reads .TIFF format images.
